Compact tool setting for length measurement & tool breakage detection (BLUM)

Solutions for tool breakage detection and tool length measurement in CNC machining centres. Measurements of unrivalled speed and precision under the most adverse manufacturing conditions using a modern measuring mechanism based on a linear working principle and optoelectronic switch signal generation.

During the process, tool breakage detection are able to stop the machine and trigger alarm in order to minimize the rejection.

The SF 55 3D Shop Floor CMM is a CNC bridge measuring device for use in a production environment and can be equipped with both tactile and optical sensors. The corrosion-free guides of the machine are made of granite and hand lapped with high precision. The guideways are completely covered and protected against contamination.

The LM Series High-Accuracy Instant Measurement System is an automated inspection system that can perform measurements to +/- 0.7μm accuracy and +/- 0.1μm repeatability at the push of a button. Similar to the IM Series, the unit has built-in edge detection with automatic focus and lighting. The unit also automatically records measurement data and creates detailed inspection reports. The image showcases our latest LM-1100 model which houses high-resolution double telecentric lenses for precision optical inspection and a large 9 x 5” field of view.
